Flecos y Cascabeles - Pocahontas fell in love with a buffoon
Espero que la señora del metro no sea una creadora de tendencias.
Barcelona tube a Tuesday morning at peak hour. A jingling tangle of fringes boards my carriage. I look up and I make out several rattles and some red thread among lots of fringes than surround a tiny female figure. I don´t know if the metallic pieces are sewn into the dress or if they are part of a necklace. I don´t dare to look at her.I hate this Mediterranean bad habit of staring at other people but it´s hard to be polite when there´s such a colourful character sitting two seats from yours. I would swear that she´s wear a pair of those gladiator boots that do nothing for her. Buffoons making sumersaults, modern-day gladiators posing for pictures around Roman Colosseum, little girls dressing as Pocahontas, Buffalo Bill and Carnival characters trying to keep evil spirits away come in my mind. I remember reading some time ago that certain califah ordered Jews to wear a bell as a distinguishing sign. I have reached my station and I notice that all my fellow passengers eyes are still on today´s main character of this post. I don´t look and I proceed with my journey.
I hope the lady on the tube doesn´t become a trend-setter.
