Today I want to introduce you a well-known Catalan illustrator, Pilarín Bayés, whose works captured my imagination as a child. Even today, when I look at these big-eyed characters of rose-tinted cheeks I come back to her naive but at the same time ironic world, a world where beauty, tradition, culture and fun reign. A place where coexistence and understanding between cultures is not an uthopy. Now we have the chance to explore her work through an exhibition in Barcelona.
"Pilarín, 50 Years drawing for everyone" until September 11th at Palau Robert, Barcelona. Free Admission.
Pilarín Bayés has illustrated over 600 books.
"My sparrow" was her first book, published in 1964.
